See the Book on Amazon Autographed Copy from the Author: The Dog Beautiful - Autographed The Northern, Nordic and Spitz breeds are indeed some of the most beautiful dogs in the world. One look into their eyes touches the depths of the soul and energizes the vibrant and spirited life-force that is as enduring as nature itself. The Northern Breeds are the primitive ancestors that adapted their behavior patterns to be able to cohabitate with people. This in turn unlocked the hidden genetics associated with domestication and resulted in the development and expression of new traits and variations such as size, coat, body type, temperament and personality. Primitive dogs that dwelled on the fringes of human society into trusting partners that specialized in helping mankind survive by herding, hunting, pulling sleds, guarding and providing companionship. They followed people as they travelled across Europe, Asia, Siberia and North American to become the foundation stock that evolved into the many treasured breeds of dogs that are loved and cherished today. The way we relate to our dogs is framed by the dogs weâve encountered and held close in our past. Just as our character is shaped by many defining moments in our past, we are also shaped by our ancestors and the genetics we inherited from them. Similar principles hold true for dogs in that fully comprehending true nature of the dogs we love is incomplete until we reach further into their past to understand their spirit, their nature and their character. Today's modern dog breeds are woven from the very same fabric and genetics of the Northern Breeds. We never realized how many varieties were locked away inside of their genome until we brought them into our homes and our hearts. This book is an essential guide that helps us understand the ancestral journey our dogs have made as well as providing the keys to unlock, understand appreciate their true nature.Etiam nper. Current Litters (Arrivals) Sabrina-Chewbacca Planned Breedings (Future) Akasia-Legolas Litters Due to Arrive * Sabrina ** Geisha -- -- Mini Puppies Teddy Bear Puppy Our breeding program strives to produce happy, healthy, outgoing puppies with people pleasing personalities. With our first American Eskimo in 1969, the path to learning about the northern breeds, becoming involved with the Eskie, showing and later breeding became the path forward. The year 1980 marked the start of breeding and showing these beautiful dogs. At that time, we put together a selective breeding program with the goal of improving both type and temperament. We extensively researched our foundation puppies and dogs back several generations and kept track of the traits and personalities of the dogs in the pedigrees. Using trial and error, we worked with Champion/Grand Champion pedigrees, participated in State and National Eskie Clubs and partnered with fellow breeders. We developed our original "Teddy Bear" type in 1985, which are known for beauty, balance and and outgoing, people-loving temperament. Our lines have proven their excellence in the UKC and AKC show rings since that time. Our puppies have proven themselves from generation to generation to be very adaptable - and they love their "people." We produce family-oriented loving pets with the potential to do as much or to go as far as their "people" would like to take them. If you adopt a Teddy Bear puppy or adult, they are yours to take into the show ring for that Championship title, or into the obedience ring to demonstrate their remarkable ability to learn, or into the agility ring to show how well a dog and human coalesce to think alike and work together. Our breeding program has finished and produced over 100 conformation and obedience titles in both UKC and AKC! One of our puppies (Angela) was registered with the FCI as a German Spitz and earned almost 10 championship titles in that registry and placed consistently. Other pups from our breeding program have earned titles from competing in Obedience, Agility and other sports, such as flyball! Of course, these dogs can simply be loyal companions, they will happily soak up all the love and spoiling that can be lavished upon them. Some of our puppies have been in TV commercials, some were featured in Magic Shows, and many are certified as Therapy dogs and visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools.companion animal therapists. There are no limits to the relationship that you can develop with your Eskie. Read more -- "The Teddy Bear Type" Posted on 28 sep 2019 by Admin | Filed under templates , internet -- Posted on 28 sep 2019 by Theresa Wright, Ph.D. -- Teddy Bear Female Puppies Newborn Puppies Puppy Slideshow FAQ: Yes - All of our puppies ARE the Teddy Bear Type... Wright's American Eskimos originally coined the phrase and developed what we called the "Teddy Bear Type" very early in our breeding program. Our intention was to provide a phrase that visualizes and describes a type of eskie that has a broader muzzle, heavier coat, heavier bone, a little more substance (but not overdone) which gives the dog a fuller, more aristocratic, yet balanced appearance. Our dogs are bred from generations of hand-picked dogs that are structurally well balanced, have correct single tracking movement and a flowing, elegant ground covering gait. We use the principles of selective breeding desirable traits (many of which are recessive) to produce a heavier coat, a longer than average coat, adequate heavy bone (as in the true ancestral type,) strong black points, a bear-like muzzle shape (wedge shaped) which minimizes tear stains, solid proportion with exceptional balance and movement, (single-tracking, angulation, drive) outgoing, loving disposition. keen wit and intelligence. The personality traits have been developed by nurturing and breeding dogs with desirable attitudes and personalities and by culling stock that is lacking. After five to seven generations of nurturing, we have achieved a consistent high degree of uniformity in both personality and type in our puppies. When breeding for more substance and bone, the puppies tend to develop more slowly and at a more consistent pace. Some will go through many awkward physical and emotional stages as they mature. They usually take longer to go through the stages of development. Generally, our puppies take 2 to 3 years before true physical adulthood is reached. But they also seem to always retain the playful mind of puppyhood. Our foundation dogs were OFA certified clear of hip dysplasia. The OFA stands for the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals.
